The CHAOS series is a ten-book Christian End Times saga that blends biblical prophecy, contemporary events, and unforgettable characters into one continuous story. While the novels are works of fiction, they are built upon a foundation of Scripture and are intended to encourage readers to examine God's Word for themselves.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Many readers have asked what inspired the CHAOS in the Blink of an Eye series.

Ironically, it began with my lifelong love of sports. Even after becoming a Christian in 1991, I continued attending games and watching sports on television. Over time, however, the Lord began changing the way I viewed them.

I came to realize that sports had become far more than entertainment in our culture. Every week, millions of people fill stadiums and arenas around the world, passionately celebrating athletes and teams with a devotion that can sometimes resemble worship itself.

As someone who once lived and breathed sports, I understood that passion well.

Eventually, I found myself wrestling with a difficult question: What if the same energy, devotion, and emotional investment poured into sports were directed toward the One who created us?

That question became the spark that ignited the CHAOS series.

Long before readers met Brian Mulrooney, Charles Calloway, Tamika Moseley, Jacquelyn Swindell, Justin Schroeder, Craig Rubin, Travis Hartings, Clayton Holmes, Tom Dunleavey, Jim Simonton, Dick and Sarah Mulrooney, President Jefferson Danforth, Yogesh and Hana Patel, Yasamin Dabiri, Salvador Romanero (yuck!), and so many others were ever conceived in my mind, I traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend the legendary Michigan–Ohio State football game.

I already knew the story would begin with Bible prophecy unfolding at Michigan Stadium. What I didn't know was who the people would be that readers would eventually come to know and love. Those characters had yet to be conceived.

To bring those opening scenes to life, I wanted to experience firsthand the atmosphere surrounding one of college football's greatest rivalries before writing them.

The atmosphere was electric—so overwhelming at times that I had to remind myself that I was there to observe and write, not simply get swept away in it all.

At the time, I had no idea that what began as a research trip would eventually grow into a ten-book series spanning the globe.

Though the series begins around a football rivalry, CHAOS is not truly a sports story.

It is a story about what happens when Bible prophecy suddenly collides with everyday life—and humanity is forever changed in the blink of an eye.

The chaos that follows was foretold in Scripture more than 2,000 years ago.

From packed football stadiums in Ann Arbor to the streets of Jerusalem... from the White House to underground churches in worldwide...  the CHAOS series spans the globe as ordinary people find themselves caught in extraordinary times foretold in Scripture.

Over the course of ten novels, readers will encounter presidents and pastors, scientists and soldiers, skeptics and believers, young families and world leaders—all facing the same question: Who will they trust when everything begins to unravel?

I don’t write merely to entertain. I write because eternity is real.

Football may have opened the door... but prophecy is what invited readers inside.

Researching the CHAOS Series

One of the questions I am asked most often is, "How much research went into writing the CHAOS series?"

The short answer is... countless hours.

Although CHAOS is a work of fiction, I wanted the world, the technology, the politics, and the prophetic events to feel as realistic as possible. My goal was to write a story that readers could picture unfolding in today's world.

To accomplish that, I spent years researching a wide range of subjects, including:

• Biblical prophecy and end-times theology

• Israel and the Middle East

• World governments and international politics

• Military strategy and modern warfare

• Economics and the movement toward a cashless society

• Artificial intelligence and surveillance technology

• Cybersecurity and digital identification systems

• Medical and scientific developments

• World religions and religious persecution

• Geography, transportation, and international travel

Throughout the series, I also researched countless cities, countries, cultures, and historical events to help make each location feel authentic. My desire was never simply to tell an exciting story, but to place believable characters into a world that readers could recognize as their own.

Above all, however, my greatest source of research has always been the Bible.

No prophetic event was ever included simply because it made for an exciting scene. My commitment throughout the series was to let Scripture shape the story—not the other way around. Instead of asking, "What would make the best fiction?" I asked, "What does the Bible say?" That guiding principle remained unchanged from the first page of the series to the last.

While Christians hold differing views regarding the timing and interpretation of certain prophetic events, every major prophetic development throughout the CHAOS series is rooted in my understanding of God's Word. The characters are fictional, but the prophetic framework upon which the series is built comes directly from Scripture.

My prayer has always been that readers will not simply enjoy the story, but will be encouraged to open their Bibles, study these prophecies for themselves, and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
